The SEC has declared that it had a “highly productive and impactful year” in terms of enforcement actions related to cryptocurrency and digital assets. The agency brought more than two dozen enforcement actions in 2023, charging major crypto companies and executives for alleged fraud and failure to register crypto asset offerings and exchanges. The SEC also targeted bad actors in the NFT space and scrutinized celebrity endorsements of crypto projects.
