Crypto market is green today

The market has turned green today.

Over the past 24 hours, the global cryptocurrency market capitalization has increased by 1%, currently standing at $2.83 trillion.

At the time of writing, the daily crypto trading volume is $75.3 billion, still trending downwards.

Just five of the top 100 coins per market cap are red today. DeXe (DEXE) and LEO Token (LEO) decreased the most. They are down 4.9% and 3.3% to $14.17 and $9.04, respectively.

At the same time, the day’s best performer is Stacks (STX). It has increased by 15.1% to the price of $0.7103. It’s followed by Injective (INJ), which appreciated 8.2%, now trading at $8.93.

In the top 10 coins category, only one coin decreased over the past day. TRON (TRX) fell 1.4% to $0.2415.

The two biggest gainers today are Dogecoin (DOGE) and Cardano (ADA). They appreciated by 4.7% and 4.4% to $0.2415 and $0.6413, respectively. The smallest increase is Solana (SOL)’s 0.8% to the price of $138.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin (BTC) is up 3.5%, now trading at $87,129, while Ethereum (ETH) appreciated 3%, currently changing hands at $1,624.

Kraken Launches FX Perpetual Futures

Crypto exchange Kraken says it has added FX perpetual futures (FX perps) to Kraken Derivatives.

The first two perps launching at 20x leverage are EUR/USD and GBP/USD, the press release says. The team added that it would include more forex pairs soon.

FX perps are perpetual contracts based on forex market indices, benchmarked to DxFeed’s Composite Forex Index. They trade without expiry, allowing traders to adapt their strategies and capture in real time.

“This offering gives you the same seamless, intuitive trading experience you’re accustomed to from our 300+ crypto perpetuals within Kraken Pro,” the exchange says.

FX Perps are available to all derivatives-eligible Kraken clients, excluding residents of the European Union and Great Britain. There are plans to expand to more geographies soon, Kraken says.

It adds that Kraken clients have traded $5.4 billion in FX spot markets, including $3.5 billion concentrated in EUR/USD and GBP/USD pairs.

Alexia Theodorou, Head of Derivatives at Kraken, commented that by introducing FX Perps, the exchange provides its clients with “a powerful new tool to better navigate and tailor exposure to some of the most widely-traded currency markets in crypto today.”

“This expands the number of opportunities available for traders to use Kraken to capture value across a wider range of asset classes, from one platform,” Theodorou says.

Bybit Launches Crypto Surf with $250,000 in Prizes

Crypto exchange Bybit has launched its trading competition, Crypto Surf: Ride the Waves with Trailing Stops.

According to the press release, traders can choose to rally behind either copy trading or trading bots, with a share of a prize pool worth up to $250,000 in USDT on the line.

To qualify, participants must hold a minimum wallet balance of $1,000 in USDT, generate at least $10,000 in squad volume, and complete identity verification Level 1.

The event will last from 18 April to 19 May. It features a squad-based structure. Users choose their camp, make strategic trades, and compete across PnL, ROI, and trading volume leaderboards, the exchange says.

“With a dynamic reward structure, participants can also win by predicting which squad will come out on top,” it adds.

Of the prize pool, 40% goes to the champion squad, 30% to the runner-up, 25% to the top 100 individual traders by volume, and 5% to users who correctly predict the winning squad.

Users can register for one squad only. They can also vote only once to predict the winner.

Major Music Rights Platform Taps Sony’s Blockchain Soneium

JASRAC, a major music copyright collective in Japan, has launched its blockchain-based platform for music creators to register works, prove ownership, and streamline royalty processes on Sony’s blockchain Soneium.

Serving major labels like Sony Music, Universal, and Warner, this platform leverages proof of existence and eKYC to help artists secure copyrights and ensure fair royalty distribution, the team says.

According to the press release, JASRAC is the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers. It now supports Soneium as the blockchain network for the Creator DX Platform, KENDRIX.

Thanks to this integration, KENDRIX offers a more decentralized and open environment. It allows “anyone—from major labels to individual artists—to participate with ease.”

The advantages that KENDRIX offers creators by leveraging blockchain technology include objective proof of authorship and precise timestamp verification; enhanced protection against plagiarism and unauthorized use; legal documentation for potential rights disputes; and transparent and secure rights management.

In addition to adopting Soneium, KENDRIX also leverages the rights management blockchain system developed by Sony Group Corporation. The system provides the foundation for a transparent, privacy-preserving revenue-sharing structure among creators, music companies, and other stakeholders, the team says.
