NFL prediction market volume reached at least $1.035 billion from Sept. 7-13, with Kalshi accounting for $983.36 million as regular-season trading spread across the Week 1 slate.

NFL prediction markets generated at least $1.035 billion in tracked contract volume from Sept. 7-13, up from $72.72 million in our previous weekly volume report.

Kalshi accounted for $983.36 million, including $537.48 million in direct NFL contracts and $445.88 million in NFL-only combo contracts. Polymarket Global added $28.00 million, while Polymarket US had reported $23.20 million across five days when we collected the data.

The volume was not confined to the opening prime-time games. 49ers-Rams and Patriots-Seahawks each generated more than $100 million across the tracked venues, while the other 14 Week 1 matchups added another $315.58 million.

Week 1 also provides the first regular-season checkpoint against our projection that Kalshi NFL volume could reach about $57 billion this season.

Our weekly reporting window ended at 12:00 a.m. UTC on Sept. 14. Later Week 1 markets therefore reflect volume accumulated through the cutoff rather than final game totals. The combined NFL total is also a lower bound because Polymarket US had not posted its Sept. 10 and Sept. 13 Daily Market Reports when the data was collected.

NFL-only combos added $445.9M on Kalshi

Week 1 game markets and game-specific props generated $495.92 million on Kalshi, up from $3.56 million in the prior week. Other direct NFL contracts contributed another $41.55 million, taking direct NFL volume to $537.48 million.

NFL-only combo contracts added $445.88 million, up from $52.25 million a week earlier. Those combos accounted for 45.3% of Kalshi’s NFL volume, with direct NFL contracts making up the remaining 54.7%.

Methodology

Our analysis uses deduplicated hourly contract-volume and trade-count data for the Monday-Sunday UTC windows of Aug. 31-Sept. 6 and Sept. 7-13. For each provider market and hour, the latest value by computation time was selected before summing. The Sept. 7-13 window ended at 12:00 a.m. UTC on Sept. 14.

Kalshi’s direct NFL total covers current catalog markets attributable only to the NFL. Its combo total includes complete combo structures only when every resolved leg was NFL-related. Mixed-category combos, unresolved combos, Netflix ticker false positives, college football, CFL and Olympic flag-football markets were excluded. Direct legs and combo contracts were counted once each as separate provider markets.

Sports and platform totals use our category and provider aggregates for the same window. Polymarket US uses official Daily Market Report Trade Volume; Sept. 10 and Sept. 13 reports were unavailable at collection time. Volume measures contracts traded during each window, not ending cumulative volume or dollar notional.
