In another shocking development, an advisor at a venture capital (VC) firm that focuses on blockchain companies has been arrested. The Master Ventures advisor identified as Orion Depp was arrested in Colombia and is now facing multiple charges connected with sexual activities with underage children.
Making Colombia His Hunting Ground
In the report that was published by local media outlet Semana, Depp has been using Colombia as a hunting ground for his sexual activities with minors. The financial analyst and advisor would reportedly use social media to lure underage girls with promises of material things and money, before inviting them over to his apartment.
According to Colombian authorities, Depp had two apartments which he retained in the cities of Bello and Medellin, where he would invite the girls to. One girl told the outlet that he had contacted her on Facebook, suggesting that they meet up at this house in Medellin while offering her money.
The girl said that she had told Depp that she was 16 years old but it seemed that is what the financial analyst was looking for because he was fine with this. “His house had three floors, his room was on the top, it was full of mirrors, I told him and he knew that he was 16 years old,” the girl explained (Translated from Spanish to English using Google Translate).
His victims also revealed that Depp was particular about how the girls would present. One explained that he insisted on the girls being cleanly shaven, as well as no scars, and would have never had any children prior.
Arrested And Facing Multiple Charges
Depp was reportedly arrested after one of his victims came clean to police at an event hosted for awareness. According to authorities, Depp had raised eyebrows after entering the country 23 times, all of which were reportedly to meet up with and engage in sexual acts with underage girls.
Following his arrest, Colonel Juan Pablo Cubides said that the financial advisor was being charged with multiple crimes. These include “crimes of sexual act with a minor under 14 years and sexual act with pornographic content with a minor under 18 years of age; in addition, commercial sexual exploitation with children under 14 years of age,” Cubides said. As for Depp’s affiliation with Master Ventures, on-chain investigator Zachxbt shared a screenshot from their website which showed Depp listed as an advisor. However, the the financial advisor is reportedly no longer with the company and the website was yet to be updated.
