Technology and advancement expanded its roots in every business industry and the fashion and sports industry is not an exception. The collaboration of Adidas and the BAPE team for the Triple-White Forum 84 BAPE Low holds the best example of this. Let’s take a look at the reason behind the collaboration, the features of the sneakers, and the details of the auction.
Features of the Limited-edition Sneakers
Adidas and BAPE are continuing to stretch their collaboration output and added one more step in the same. On 16 August, two giant apparel brands Adidas Originals and BAPE announced a limited-edition sneaker collaboration which will be auctioned. The Triple-White Forum 84 BAPE Low will be paired with a “digital twin” NFT version and can be used in the Metaverse. The launch is the third part of a partnership celebrating BAPE’s 30th anniversary.
Adidas has auctioned various initiatives around NFTs but this is the first time when the brand will use an action format for an NFT-driven drop. 100 ETH NFTs can be exchanged to purchase one of the 100 pairs of sneakers.

Each pair of shoes is equipped with a Near-Field Communication (NFC) chip, situated in the left tongue. NFC is a technology that allows users to exchange data between two devices. The embedded NFC chip will allow owners to access NFT-based certificates of authenticity when scanned.
After redeeming the NFT certificate for the physical shoes, the owners will receive a “digital twin” ETH NFT. The NFT will be interoperable with the ALTS avatar project, offering owners the chance to wear the same in the metaverse.
Details of the Auction
The auction is going to begin on August 22 and remain active for 72 hours until August 25. The bidders are allowed to place bids according to shoe size as well as bid as many times as they want. Focusing on the price, the bid will start from 0.3 ETH which is around $550 without any maximum limit.
On September 26, the 100 owners of the sneakers will be able to burn their tokens to redeem the digital twins and sneakers using Adidas Collect. There is also good news for the holders of Adidas’ 2,298 ALT[er]Ego “Soles” and the BAPE community. Both members will get a complimentary 10% premium added to the bidding price as a bidder advantage.
Conclusion
To celebrate BAPE’s 30th anniversary, Adidas and BAPE came up with an auction of 100 pairs of Ultra-limited sneakers using NFT passes. The auction is going to begin on August 22 and remain active until August 25. Also, there is a complimentary 10% premium advantage for Adidas and BAPE members.
