CelcomDigi and VIRNECT Partner to Transform Malaysian Higher Education with Metaverse and AIIn a strategic collaboration, CelcomDigi Bhd (CelcomDigi) has joined forces with South Korea’s technology firm, VIRNECT, to co-create industrial virtual learning programs infused with metaverse and AI-based solutions for several Malaysian universities. This partnership aims to cultivate graduates equipped with metaverse skills, thereby propelling Malaysia’s digital talent development in tandem with AI-driven growth.

VIRNECT, based in South Korea, specializes in the development and commercialization of industrial extended reality (XR) solutions. The collaboration is set to revolutionize education in Malaysia, offering students immersive learning experiences across various disciplines within the Metaverse platform. These experiences are poised to benefit industries such as cybersecurity, healthcare, robotics, and oil and gas engineering.

Datuk Idham Nawawi, the Chief Executive Officer of CelcomDigi, expressed that this partnership enables them to harness the potential of Metaverse, 5G, and AI technologies. By doing so, they aim to pioneer innovative digital solutions for Malaysian enterprises, thereby catalyzing Malaysia’s digital ecosystem into a new era of leadership.

CelcomDigi’s Innovation Center has a broader vision of constructing an inspiring innovation ecosystem for the nation. Through this collaboration with VIRNECT and XRA, VIRNECT’s local partner and support team in Malaysia, they plan to introduce strategic initiatives that leverage cutting-edge metaverse and AI-based technology solutions into higher education institutions across Malaysia.

This ambitious venture marks a pivotal step towards aligning education with the evolving demands of industries and technology. By infusing virtual learning programs with metaverse and AI, the collaboration intends to create a pool of industry-ready graduates who can seamlessly integrate into a digital-centric workforce. This move is expected to empower Malaysia’s future workforce with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in an AI-driven and technologically advanced landscape.

VIRNECT’s expertise in industrial XR solutions positions them as an ideal partner for this endeavor. The Metaverse platform’s immersive learning experiences will not only enhance education but also prepare students to contribute effectively to sectors critical to Malaysia’s economic growth, including cybersecurity, healthcare, robotics, and oil and gas engineering.

Furthermore, the utilization of 5G technology will play a pivotal role in enabling seamless connectivity and ensuring a robust digital learning experience. The combination of Metaverse and AI is poised to create a dynamic educational environment that fosters innovation and prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.

As Malaysia strives to establish itself as a digital leader, collaborations like this one between CelcomDigi and VIRNECT demonstrate a commitment to nurturing talent and fostering technological advancement. The integration of Metaverse and AI into higher education represents a significant stride towards equipping the future workforce with the skills required to drive innovation and economic growth in the digital era.
