Dapper Labs, the non-fungible token (NFT) and gaming company behind CryptoKitties and NBA Top Shot, will team up with Disney on an upcoming app launch, Dapper announced on Tuesday.
Non-fungible tokens are a type of crypto asset where the backing code that digitally proves that the item – usually art, videos or music – is unique. The Disney Pinnacle app will offer a “socially driven collectible experience that brings the magic of pin collecting to the digital age. »
The characters on the unique, collectable and tradable digital pins will include characters from across 100 years of Disney intellectual property, which includes Pixar and Star Wars.
“Disney Pinnacle is an all-new product designed from the ground up to incorporate everything we’ve learned over the past few years,” said Roham Gharegozlou, co-founder and CEO of Dapper Labs, in the announcement post. “Fans anywhere will be able to collect dynamic pins on their phone and trade instantly and securely with each other no matter where they are in the world.”
Disney Pinnacle will launch later this year on the Apple App Store for iOS. The waitlist is now open.
