Prices of previous Trump NFTs rose in the immediate aftermath of the announcement.

Donald Trump has returned to the NFT world, unveiling a new “Mugshot Edition” that references the infamous photo of him taken during his arraignment in Atlanta on racketeering and other charges.

In a more than two-minute video on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Trump announced the issue of 47 cards, including “an official mugshot card.” The number corresponds to the number of his possible next presidency. Each card costs $99, according to a website, CollectTrump Cards, promoting the collection. The site said that some cards are “one of one.”

“I’m back with my latest series called the mug shot edition,” Trump said in the video, quipping: “I wonder where that came from, the mugshot edition.”

Consumers purchasing all 47 cards will receive a physical card fashioned from the blue suit Trump wore during his Georgia arraignment in August and an invitation to attend a dinner at Trump’s Florida home, Mar-a-Lago.

Trump’s first two NFT collections, the first unveiled last December and the second in April of this year, sold out quickly, but prices floundered soon after to less than their original asking price amid a wider swooning of the NFT market. But the prices of cards offered on the platform OpenSea rose after the latest announcement and were recently fetching between 0.14 ($305) and 0.44 ether ($961). A much-lampooned image of Trump wearing a Super hero costume was selling for 0.22 ETH ($480).

“I can tell you they give me muscles where, believe me, I don’t have them,” Trump said of the cards.

Trump has not been shy about trying to benefit financially from the scandals that clouded both his Presidency and post-Presidency, tying fund-raising efforts to specific events, including his two impeachments. He faces a total of 91 state and federal charges, including 13 counts in Georgia where Fulton County prosecutors allege he illegally tried to reverse his election loss in the state.

“This is a moment in history — it’s the first ever mugshot of a United States President,” the website for his latest NFTs said.
