Flare integrates with Subsquid, opening new horizons for developers by providing extensive, decentralized access to historical blockchain data, underscoring the alliance’s commitment to an open-source blockchain ecosystem.
In a recent announcement from Dubai, Flare, the blockchain tailored for data, disclosed its integration by Subsquid, a global network known for offering free, swift, and decentralized data access to developers and their applications. This integration renders historical data on the Flare blockchain accessible to developers utilizing the Subsquid network.
Subsquid, a comprehensive blockchain indexing solution, has an open-source SDK, specialized data lakes for on-chain data, and a hosted service. This solution empowers developers constructing decentralized applications to delve into the Flare blockchain and access a vast array of historical on-chain data via Subsquid’s distributed data lake.
Subsquid’s data lake, a structured and unstructured data reservoir, currently encompasses 5,000 projects and processes an astounding 30 billion requests. The goal is to sculpt Web3’s largest decentralized data lake. The Subsquid SDK is adorned with a highly customizable ETL query stack, which is invaluable for indexing events, transactions, and traces. This SDK enables developers to craft custom data pipelines and application programming interfaces (APIs) to fetch data from the ecosystem. External API calls are also facilitated, allowing developers to use Subsquid SDK to aggregate data from Flare APIs.
Flare’s Co-Founder and CEO, Hugo Philion, extolled Subsquid’s open-source ethos towards data accessibility, stating, “As we look to provide developers with the best possible tools, we have been very impressed with Subsquid’s commitment to open source approach and the speed of the indexing system they have built from the ground up.”
Expressing enthusiasm over the integration, a representative from Subsquid remarked, “We are thrilled to bring Flare into our decentralized data lake, serving as a data provider in the ecosystem and enabling developers to rapidly and permissionlessly retrieve data from the network without having to use an archive node,” further noting that both entities are keen on collaborating on several developer engagement initiatives in the foreseeable future.
Flare, dubbed as the blockchain for data, is an EVM intelligent contract platform that accentuates the utility of blockchain. Thanks to the decentralized oracles embedded within the network’s structure, it’s uniquely optimized for decentralized data acquisition. By offering developers trustless access to a broad spectrum of data at scale and minimal cost, Flare stands as a utility layer for the blockchain industry, fostering the development of innovative use cases.
Subsquid is a full-stack blockchain indexing solution comprising an open-source SDK, specialized data lakes for on-chain data (Archives), and a hosted service (Aquarium). It adeptly addresses the data access dilemma for a myriad of online and analytical use cases, serving as a beacon in the blockchain data accessibility domain.
