Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that the Gundam Metaverse Project will be having a limited Beta test this October, as the app opens for pre registration.

In a press conference today, Gundam Chief Officer Koji Fujiwara said that the Gundam Metaverse will be available for Japanese and American users from October 6th to October 17th.

The service will be primarily available on PC, though Fujiwara also clarified that you’ll be able to “sneak in” via your mobile device to use a more simplified version of the services.

He also mentioned that VR integration was in development.

This beta test would cover Side-Gunpla, and will allow users to scan their Gunpla and show them off online to other Metaverse users.

These works would be displayed in the User Generated Content (UGC) Museum, made in collaboration with Sony’s scanning technology.

Additionally, the Gundam Metaverse beta test would also feature a hub area for players to interact, as well as an online store featuring exclusive Gunpla, though as of present the store will only be available in Japanese.

Fujiwara also confirmed that a second beta test for the Metaverse project beta will be held in Spring of next year.

The Gundam Metaverse Project has been in development for a while, with the ultimate goal of being a social hub to connect Gundam fans across the world.

It was originally meant to consist of multiple Sides, such as the Side Esports which would focus on games like the now-shut-down Gundam Evolution as well as Gundam Battle Operation 2 as well as a Side Anime.
