The digital age has certainly brought around some surprising collaborations, none more so than rugby clothing giant’s Canterbury’s latest partnership with the Metaverse.
To support the launch of Canturbury’s Speed Infinite Elite boots, rugby fans can meet the likes of Wales and British Lions legend Sam Warburton in the Roblox online universe. Canturbury are working alongside game developers Dubit, with players able to win a virtual pair of Speed Infinite Elites for their Roblox Avatars.
The special release ‘Purple Colourway’ boots can be won through completing the ‘Ultimate Easy Obby’ obstacle course, and meet some famous rugby faces along the way. Warburton is joined in-game by England internationals Adam Radwan, Ellie Kildunne and Sevens star Jodie Ounsley, as well as Ireland’s back row Maeve Og O’Leary and flying winger Mack Hansen.
The gameplay will consist of five unique stages, each inspired by Canterbury, Rugby, and their hero ambassadors. The quintet of rugby stars will all provide players with in-game boosts to help them along their way. The new game mode launched on Monday, and has already generated quite a buzz.
The partnership will last for one month, and the first 15,000 Players who successfully complete all five stages will be rewarded with a special UGC version of the Speed Infinite Elite shoes that their avatar can wear in other games across the Roblox metaverse platform.
