Yuga Labs, the pioneering force behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT Collection, has acquired PROOF, a major player in the NFT space.

This acquisition includes PROOF Collective and famous collections such as Moonbirds, Oddities, Mythics and the Grails exhibition series. CEO Daniel Alegre sees the move as key to realizing Yuga Labs’ vision to be “the front door to Web3“.

The integration of PROOF’s assets and expertise aims to strengthen Yuga Labs’ position in the digital art and blockchain community.

The acquisition also includes the integration of the Moonbirds collection into Otherside, Yuga Labs’ ambitious metauniverse project fostering collaboration between content creators, communities and brands across the Web3.

Kevin Rose, CEO and founder of PROOF, expressed his optimism about the Moonbirds’ transition, highlighting the potential within the Otherside metaverse. This integration highlights Yuga Labs’ commitment to digital art and community engagement, promising innovative developments.

This is not Yuga Labs’ first acquisition of a major NFT player. In 2022 Larva Labs sold CryptoPunks intellectual property rights again to Yuga Labs.
