Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has shown support for pro-XRP lawyer John Deaton, who could well be running for a political post soon enough. This comes as there have been calls from members of the XRP community urging the legal expert to run for a particular senatorial seat.
Garlinghouse In Support Of Deaton Running For Office
The Ripple CEO reposted an X (formerly Twitter) post calling on Deaton to run for Congress. Brad Garlinghouse is known only to make posts and reposts related to his company, Ripple, which makes this notable and suggests a possible endorsement of the legal expert. The executive has also shown to be in support of persons who can help weed out corrupt politicians.
Interestingly, the XRP community is calling on Deaton to go against Senator Elizabeth Warren and run for the Massachusetts Senatorial seat. Crypto Eri, a prominent member of the XRP community, had first led the charge when she cited a Politico report that noted that Warren doesn’t have formidable opposition as of yet.
Deaton has been a long critic of the Senator as he had at some point labeled her as the biggest threat to crypto. Warren is known for her anti-crypto stance, as she is the main sponsor of the ‘Digital Asset Anti-Money Laundering Act’ which is seen as an “unconstitutional assault” on the crypto industry.
Warren’s stance on crypto is a plausible reason why Ripple’s CEO Gralinghouse would be all in on Deaton unseating her. Garlinghouse is no stranger to some of the irregularities in the system, as he and his company have had to battle it out with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the absence of regulatory clarity.
Meanwhile, Deaton also commented on calls for him to run against Warren. He hinted that if he were to run, it wouldn’t just be because of Warren’s anti-crypto stance. In fact, he stated that crypto isn’t the most important reason why he is critical of the Senator.

Ripple’s CTO Makes Cryptic Posts
The XRP community’s attention has also been drawn to cryptic posts made by Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) David Schwartz. Schwartz made a couple of X posts that contained the Angzar symbol, which is included in Unicode. However, it is unclear what the Ripple CTO might be driving at.
Considering his role at Ripple, he may be alluding to a major development that may be on the horizon for the XRP Ledger. Schwartz has always been known to provide key updates revolving around the network.
Meanwhile, it is also possible that the Ripple CTO was simply just playing around. He made a subsequent post where he looked to make a light-hearted joke when he said, “I apologize for posting an Angzar. Never post in Angzar.”
