Social Monster (SoMon), a Web3 social app forum, is making waves as a rising Web3 social app. With OpenSocial Protocol at its core, SoMon is going to offer users a chance for creating dynamic communities in the form of Tribes based on their interests and fandoms. This inclusive, user-friendly application has launched on the Base blockchain.

Since going live on June 19, 2024, the engagement metrics of SoMon have worked wonders: in less than two weeks, the app has seen over 300,000 recorded on-chain transactions, making this the most active and fastest-growing social app in the Web3 domain. According to the company, more than 30,000 users signed up on-chain during the first two weeks, which presents strong early adoption.

Today, SoMon’s user base tops 80,000, with well over 2 million social engagements across 300+ Tribes. This kind of rapid growth speaks to the appeal of the app and the underlying power of its model that is centered on community.

Unique Features and Monetization

What sets SoMon apart is that users can create and monetize Tribes by utilizing the NFT technology. Since July 17, 2024, this feature has allowed users to mint Tribes and build dynamic communities through fragmented ownership.

Content creation is further incentivized by a monetization tool called ‘Megaphone,’ which provides an opportunity to purchase promotional real estate in terms of visibility. This money accrues from Megaphone and is distributed among Tribe owners and other stakeholders, hence creating a participatory economy inside the platform itself.

One of the unique features of SoMon is its gasless activity, which serves as an entry barrier to users beyond the crypto-savvy demographic. This accessibility explains a good deal of its rising popularity.

SoMon Airdrop and Future Plans

Currently, SoMon is in its first competitive season. This competitive season, however, ends on July 31 2024. During that period, one can collect points for different interactions and unlock badges by passing through different leagues. At the end of the season, SoMon will then release its community token, referred to as $OwO. The first airdrop of $OwO is scheduled for August 1 2024, releasing 3% of the total token supply, followed by 1% in the following seasons.

Looking forward, SoMon will boost its community economy with the Tribe Summer campaign: a bot-free environment for users to create and engage in their Tribes. The program reflects SoMon’s commitment to building a sustainable and interactive platform for its growing user base.

Conclusion

Fast out of the gate, Social Monster has got that kind of super-fast growth and innovative features that will make it huge with huge potential to take the lead as a leading Web3 social app. Leveraging OpenSocial Protocol and providing gasless user experiences, SoMon becomes well-poised to provide for a diverse and engaged community.
